As Income Tax Return Filing_Due dates and Late Fees Provision From FY 2017-18 and onwards are :
1. A late filing fees of Rs. 5,000/- will be charged for returns filed after due date but before 31st Dec.
2. If returns filed after 31st Dec late filing fees of Rs. 10,000/- shall apply.
3. However, the fees will be limited to Rs. 1,000/- for those with an income up to Rs. 5 Lakhs.
